How to choose WordPress hosting
Short answer: Choose managed WordPress hosting that includes SSL, a firewall, daily backups, staging and a clear renewal price, sized to your site: a basic plan for a business site, more memory for WooCommerce. Check what you pay in year two, not just year one.
1. Start with what the site does
A brochure site needs far less than a store. WooCommerce needs more memory and uncached performance.
2. Check what is included
SSL, a web application firewall, a CDN, backups you can restore and staging should be standard.
3. Read the renewal price
Intro prices often jump at renewal. Compare the total cost for two years.
4. Check how you leave
Can you download a full backup and get your domain transfer code without a fee?
